In 1970, St. Francis of Assisi parish of rural Canute, Holy Family parish of Canute, and St. Joseph parish of Elk City were combined to form St. Matthew Catholic Church just east of Elk City, Oklahoma. The church is located at mile marker 41 on W. Interstate 40 at it's intersection with state highway 34. The parish currently has 469 families.
Our mission parish is Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Sayre, Oklahoma which is located on Interstate 40, mile marker 25. The parish currently has 52 families.
